Nature is a Friend

by Anonymous

Nature is a friend,
It listens to your cries,
Your joy, your sorrow,
Like there's no tomorrow,
Nature is a friend.
The grass will sway and dance,
And listen to your heart,
It will not interrupt your thought,
And feelings, because,
Nature is a friend.
Sit near a tranquil lake,
The water will continue to move,
But it will not try to invade,
Your thought, but instead, it will soothe.
Nature is a friend.
A tall, big, tree,
Will stand so high,
And appear to be strong,
But it will,
Only watch,
You let out your heart and cry, for,
Nature is a friend.
An enormous rock,
Might look like it's cruel,
But, as you think,
As you laugh, as you cry,
The rock will sit peacefully,
Listening to your smiles, your sighs,
And, now you know why,
Because,
Nature is a friend.

 The Day Will Come

by Annonymous, age 11

Slowly but surely she walked towards the light,

the steady stream of hope that always burned bright.

Slowly but surely her smile began to grow

for this small wick gave more than just light.

It gave her the will, the way, the hope that maybe someday the day will come,

the day will come when no more would she run, the day will come when the world got along,

the day will come.
